Recalling mentioned somewhere, the key issue is not the type but the number of vehicles on the road.

Assuming:

460 km range per charge ,

~ 4 hour ( 240 minutes) drive or usages per charge.

The hotter or colder the weather, the shorter the driving range.

Based on criteria set by UN, traffic congestion is a sign of civilization, and a part of modern urbanization. Therefore, time wasted queuing on the road could be as much as 4 to 6 hours.

For examples, During peak hours,

a) 5 minutes corner distance could consume 60 minutes or 90 minutes in a city.

b) 20 minutes distance could use up 120 minutes to 150 minutes in a non moving traffic.

Average person travels ~ 30 minutes to work, without congestion.

Is there any back up battery that one can change at ease  like model 1960s?

For layback towns, with not much heavy traffic, electric vehicle is convenient, clean, very useful and encourageable. Except it needs some noice to enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists. Ear plug should be reconsidered on the road. It could endanger the users by not being aware of the surrounding.

Solar car is out. One could drive whole day in summer.

Enclosed wind turbine engine that keeps engine running by having reusable enclosed wind is tested by Norway or Sweden.

Let things take time to get the best shape and mode in the market. People will make their choice when the right time comes.

Eh?

I think you'll find the vast majority of EV buses are in highly urbanised areas ie main cities. A lot of these cities are in ULEZ areas as well in the UK so EV buses are a must, ie London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bradford, Bath, Bristol, Sheffield, Portsmouth, Newcastle etc etc.

Also the amount of infrastructure in the cities is far more developed (for obvious reasons) than those in more rural locations, which means recharging isnt an issue.

Clean air zones - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

The report found that the Ulez and the pre-existing low-emission zone for HGVs reduced road traffic particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions by 180 tonnes across London over three years, a cut exceeding the particulate pollution produced by rail and river transport and agriculture combined.

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions from road traffic fell by an estimated 13,500 tonnes in London in the same period – which the report says was a figure roughly equivalent to the emissions produced by planes taking off and landing at London Heathrow and City airports.

London Ulez averts more air pollution than that caused by capital’s airports, report shows | Low emission zones | The Guardian

Of course, you are aware that particulate reductions is now regarded as the most important cause of current global warming, according to the most recent trend of science research.

But of greater interest than climate, the geopolitical risk premium for oil purchases is now beginning to pose a serious problem for every advanced country on the planet, including the UK.

This is getting to be the time for British citizens to check your backyard shelter for stocking supplies. And revive those tube shelters for the indigent.

"The attack, which resulted in the deaths of three US troops, has heightened calls for a US response, possibly targeting Iranian-supported proxy groups.

President Biden is cautious about a direct attack on Iran, considering regional conflicts and the potential for a larger Middle East crisis.

US defense officials and analysts speculate on various response strategies, focusing on targeting Iranian proxies rather than direct confrontation with Iran."

"Pressure is mounting on U.S. President Joe Biden to attack Iran directly after three U.S. troops were killed and more than 30 others injured in a drone attack on an American outpost in northeastern Jordan.

While hitting Iranian targets is an option, analysts say the U.S. is more likely to strike one or more of Iranian-supported proxy groups based in Iraq and Syria -- but acknowledge it is increasingly difficult for Washington to sidestep direct confrontation with Tehran.

Biden has been reluctant to directly strike Iran, fearing it may plunge the crisis-riddled Middle East into a wider conflict amid the wars in Gaza and Yemen and Huthi rebel attacks on maritime ships in the Red Sea and counterstrikes by U.S. and British forces.

But the deaths and dozens of casualties of U.S. troops in a drone attack on the Tower 22 military outpost in Jordan, near the border with Syria, may compel the United States to deliver a stronger-than-usual response. The attack was claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella organization comprised of Iranian-backed militias."

I agree geopolitical issues are the order of the day, climate science doesnt really matter at this time.

Yes, the risk premium on oil will soon catapult into the stratosphere.

Your stuff was written by a comedian, but I guess that is your specialty these days, Rob.

Here is the punch line from your blurb. Hilarious.

"...three of the world’s leading powers—the United States, China, and Russia—should commence serious dialogue about each of the global threats outlined here. At the highest levels, these three countries need to take responsibility for the existential danger the world now faces. They have the capacity to pull the world back from the brink of catastrophe. They should do so, with clarity and courage, and without delay."

"Founded in 1945 by Albert Einstein, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and University of Chicago scientists who helped develop the first atomic weapons in the Manhattan Project, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists created the Doomsday Clock two years later, using the imagery of apocalypse (midnight) and the contemporary idiom of nuclear explosion (countdown to zero) to convey threats to humanity and the planet. The Doomsday Clock is set every year by the Bulletin’s Science and Security Board in consultation with its Board of Sponsors, which includes nine Nobel laureates. The Clock has become a universally recognized indicator of the world’s vulnerability to global catastrophe caused by man-made technologies."

Trust me ECO those who wrote this have a shed load more brain cells than youve got thats for sure! And yet you call them comedians bwahahaha, youre actually quite amusing coming out with that one.

If those 3 super powers actually talked to each other then we might get somewhere. Just like when Reagan and Gorby actually got to make many agreements.

The continuing lies and mistrust and political gamesmanship gets us all to the edge of war, do you want that? Got any better ideas? if so lets hear them!

If the leaders of those 3 countries cant help then who can?

Let me guess the all powerful Trump!

You are beginning to sound like good old Neville Chamberlain when he departed for Munich in 1938, "my father said to me, if at first you do not succeed, try, try, try again."

That initiative resulted in the wonderful Munich Agreement, about which the German Chancellor Mr. H declared, "I saw my enemies at Munich, they were little worms."

Usually scientists are the most clueless contributors to international relations.

You seem to forget that Oppenheimer advocated for sharing control of the bomb with Russia and China, and Oppenheimer lost his security clearance in 1954.

Your dreams of goodwill and peace are fine on paper but the reality is different.

I have shown you the foolishness of dreams without substance, with Neville Chamberlain and Robert Oppenheimer as principle examples, but I guess that you are an inveterate dreamer beyond any possibility of realism.

They say that being stupid is not illegal, but apparently some types of stupidity ARE illegal.

The sad part is that poor Greta is still undereducated on the issues for which she protests.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Greta-Thunberg-Trial-Starts-in-London.html

"The trial of Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg and four others for refusing to end an oil protest outside a London industry summit last year began on Thursday.

Thunberg, 21, was arrested in October last year while protesting outside the InterContinental Hotel in central London during a summit attended by global oil executives.

The trial is by judge without a jury and it is estimated that it will last for two days until judgment, with each defendant facing a maximum fine of 2,500 GBP."

This is a PBS documentary which show Exon concluded C02 is causing global warming.

It also shows that Exon and the Koch industry create a successful campaign to destroy the credibility of the fact that it is occurring and why.

Heh Ecocharger, you do you claim C02 does not cause global warming.  Why are you disagreeing with Exons conclusions about C02 causing global warming?  Are you getting paid, or are you just ignorant.  I don't know which one would be worse.

Both of these companies need to be punished held accountable and closed where their assets are sold to other oil and refineries which never did this.

Greta appears to be a slow learner on climate change, she has already been fined for this type of irrational anti-intellectual mind-suppressing behavior.

I guess you cannot teach a young person new ideas. Just the same old nonsense is acceptable to the young.

I feel genuinely sorry for her, but really, what can one do with these type of silly demonstrations?

https://time.com/6590834/greta-thunberg-trial-uk-blocking-gas-oil-conference/

"Last summer, she was fined by a Swedish court for disobeying police and blocking traffic during an environmental protest at an oil facility. She had already been fined for the same offense previously in Sweden."

Things are now warming up in the mid East, strikes being prepared, hawkish noises accompanied by military assaults.

The outbreak of higher levels of  conflict has the potential to shake things upwards.

Hold on to your hats, things may get bumpy going forward.

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/US-Prepares-for-Multi-Day-Strikes-Against-Iranian-Targets.html

"The attacks which will reportedly focus on 'Iranian targets' inside Syrian and Iraq are meant as retaliation and a supposed deterrent in response to the weekend drone attack which killed three American soldiers at a Jordanian base near the Syrian border. The attacks might extend to the Iranian navy as well, in addition to targeting Iranian personnel or 'Iran-backed militias' in Syria and Iraq."
