Yeah, I got a couple missing teeth thanks to that game.

By all means, Go Oilers!  Florida is NOT ice hockey territory!

Oil demand is now surpassing all-time highs...coal demand is healthy and oil demand is robust.

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Oil-Loses-Traction-As-Traders-Focus-on-Geopolitical-Situation.html

"In a report released on Tuesday, Standard Chartered put actual April oil demand at 101.77 million barrels per day, or 470,000 bpd higher than its previous forecast. Previously, Standard Chartered forecast that global oil demand would reach a new all-time record in May and then go beyond that in June. With the Tuesday report, the analysts are reiterating that forecast, even slightly revising their May and June demand projections upwards. "

@selva , this post is okay??? advocating lynching of public officials in the US?????

if not stretching his neck from the beam in front of entryway of the capital building????

You have to be kidding me...........

It is against the law to advocate the lynching of any person in the United States

Public Law No: 117-107 (03/29/2022)

Emmett Till Antilynching Act

This bill makes lynching a federal hate crime offense.

Specifically, the bill imposes criminal penalties—a fine, a prison term of up to 30 years, or both—on an individual who conspires to commit a hate crime offense that results in death or serious bodily injury or that includes kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill.

Coal demand may be "healthy" in some areas but coal itself is unhealthy.

Here in heart of Oil Country the last power plant using coal has been transitioned to natural gas.  Coal is officially done.

Back in 2000 we were 80% energy from coal, phase-out started in 2015 with a target completion goal of 2030.  The energy industry did the transition ahead of schedule.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/alberta-genesee-2-offline-is-this-end-of-coal-power-1.7237703

Here is a fun fact about using the poison known as coal for fuel.  A coal power plant releases way more radiation than a nuclear power plants.  Wild eh?

"In fact, the fly ash emitted by a power plant—a by-product from burning coal for electricity—carries into the surrounding environment 100 times more radiation than a nuclear power plant producing the same amount of energy." Our source for this statistic is Dana Christensen, an associate lab director for energy and engineering at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as well as 1978 paper in Science authored by J. P. McBride and colleagues, also of ORNL."

Of course, coal has advantages over nuclear...less public panic, less costly, more reliable than renewable energy, less disaster if something goes wrong.

As reported above for India, "More coal-fired units were fired up at the start of the year in the country, amid a prolonged heat wave with above-normal temperatures which pushed electricity consumption higher...India raised the share of coal in its power generation in April as sharply lower hydropower output has threatened blackouts"

Demand for coal and oil is still reaching new highs.

India has garbage air quality.  You continue to ignore that toxic reality.

Once again, I will show you real-time air quality data in India.  Please do not make any claims that modern tech has cleaned up coal when it has not.  Plenty of evidence that coal remains filthy.  Is it as bad as it was back when you could smoke in front of children in a public restaurant?  No, but do you really want that situation for your children or other loved ones?  Times change, occasionally for the better.

https://www.iqair.com/ca/india

Have you considered moving to India?  That would be great, take your pro-pollution agenda to where it is wanted!  There is probably some very cheap land for sale near a coal power plant there.  You seem to think the cheapest stuff is good, and don't fear pollution, so using Ecocharger "logic" it makes sense for you to move there.

Consider it, cheap and full of ever expanding amounts of coal pollution. Ideal place for you to live.

you are living in the past

at the current rate of expanding EV sales in China....(20 percent annualized increase in market share is just the last 6  months) China will be at over 90 percent new cars sales being EVs in just 36 months  at the rate the EV sales are going.

You can bet China new car dealers are not taking  ICE clunkers for trade ins

Oil demand in your beloved China is cratering...Enjoy the Green Agenda brought to you one billion solar panels a year and an EV only China (coming to you in 2026)

PS China government is paying cash for clunkers......

As neither you nor I live in India, it is academic. They make their own decisions.

It is rather arrogant to attempt to impose external values on some other country. Especially if we insist on consuming increasing amounts of fossil fuels ourselves while trying to prevent others from using them.

EVs are cratering in the second-hand market, no one wants those clunkers after the first use.

None of your links above is relevant to the point (no surprise).

EVs are continuing to lose market share to fossil fuel vehicles.

"the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed the steep dip in private retail demand, The trade body said it now expected battery electric models' market share to reduce to 21 per cent in 2024, down from a previous 23.3 per cent forecast."

EVs are cratering in the second hand market, no one wants those clunkers after the first use.

"The value of a used Tesla fell by more than $1,000 on average in the first half of January"

EVs are losing market share to fossil fuel cars in Europe and America...the game is up.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13433765/ev-driven-gas-cars-charging-stations.html

"Electric vehicles cost 63.6 percent more for every 1,000 miles driven per year compared to gasoline cars."

"The average cost of an electric car for every 1,000 miles driven per year is $5,108 - compared to $3,056 for a hybrid car, $3,123 for a gasoline car and $4,351 for a plug in hybrid."

Governments which try to force the EV agenda are in political trouble. Times have changed indeed.

The governments which have bought the foolish lines about climate change deserve to be turfed out.

I was still talking about coal.  You promote coal, almost seem proud that it is still being used by poor nations for some reason.

Being "rather arrogant [and] attempt to impose external values on some other country" is the most American thing you can do. :)

Did you miss the part where my province has completely phased-out coal fuelled power generation and are enjoying superior air quality?

We are just doing it better; choose a path, do you want to come up to our level or go down to theirs?  The much cleaner natural gas we use instead is also cheap and widely available so there is no justification for filthy coal power generation in a wealthy nation.

Go Oilers! Florida can have a lump of coal. :)

India clearly needs more coal power: They want to live longer lives just like people in other coal burning countries who have power and modern life expectancy rates.

Anyone trying to keep other nations from developing coal power and longer lives is effectively a murderer.

You also ignore the massive pollution problems they have.  Clean air and water is priceless.  You will understand when the cancer or cardiovascular disease gets you.  I imagine you live near coal power plants or else your pro-coal nonsense would be rather hypocritical.  Breathe in that healthy coal exhaust, please; the faster fossil-humans go away the faster we progress.

I can only show the air quality data so many times before it is pointless.  You want to ignore all the poison and even pretend it is healthy - go ahead.

Fossil fuels are still increasing in demand in the developed world, but we are strangely asking the underdeveloped world to stop using fossil fuels just as they are beginning to need them.

That is arrogance.

Let them decide for themselves what they want.

Pesky Green agenda....love it when it sticks it to the Oil lovers

Fossil fuels are still increasing in demand in the developed world?????

last I checked oil demand in China is cratering (demand for the first 5 months is less than demand for the first 5 months of 2023) Demand in China  has dropped by 400,000 BPD this year and at the same time the China economy is expanding at a 5 percent rate. and all you are left with is your COVID deadcat bounce... Subtract out the massive inventory build happening in China right now, estimated at 1 million BPD and your left with failing Oil consumption on a massive scale in  China and globally you are  back at 100 MBD no different than 2019

EVs are now 50 percent of new car sales in China........and going to hit 60 percent at the year end....and diesel demand in China is now down by 10 percent this year

Fossil fuels are still increasing in demand in the developed world??? and your whole comment was based on China????........as it was the only country with increases in Oil demand in 2023 ...please see chart below

Please note India is on the chart with no increase in demand 2019...(actual decrease in 2023 from 2019)

when you fill in the holes (30 out of 36 months of less than 100 million BPD) in oil demand left during covid/post covid from Jan 2020 to Jan 2023 with the deadcat bounce in 2023 you are still left with overall demand less than 2019 which was 100.5 MBD

2024 was your big Year for oil ????? ha ha ha

the story of the year is EVs have taken over the China car market, which is the biggest car market in the world.....and all it will do is send your global oil demand down down down down.........unless you think EVs are a fad in China more ha ha ha

Yah, that looks like rising oil demand for 2023, just as we said earlier.

All-time highs and projected to keep increasing into the future.

Hurts, don't it?

When the Biden financial meltdown inevitably comes, sooner rather than later, the artificial supports for EVs will collapse and EVs will become something for the curious to gawk at in museums.
