EPA takes first step toward replacing Obama's climate rules for coal plants

Recommended Posts

Looks like this administration is taking us few decades behind. Who wants to evolve and save our planet. Especially when living in air pollution, smog, and air quality so bad that we have to wear mask like they do in China and India now is so in.

As long as the 50,000 American coal miners get to keep their jobs and few hundred are making millions, breathing is overrated

The Clean Air Act and the Clean Water act remain unchanged. Both are legislated, standing law. Had President Obama pushed to legislate and sign into law the Clean Power Plan the current initiative would have been much less likely to occur.

When congress is bought by oil companies and other special interests that oppose pollution progress, it makes it a little hard to go through the legislative process to do the right thing.

Obama was an idealist who was trying to convert the US into a copy of the West European Socialist economies. The citizens of the US were not prepared to go there and resisted as best they could.

Nothing that the Obama EPA adopted had a benefit/cost ratio of more than 1.0. Every one of those regulations were all pain and no gain. It was without doubt the worst 8 years of EPA over regulation in history.

Trump should be presented with the fact that climate-change disasters cost U.S. more than $200 billion this year.

I have no favor in either President Obama or Trump, just stating the fact that US levels of pollution cannot go backwards as you demagogue above. Obama could have done more to secure the legacy of clean power but, decided doing so was easier without legislative permanence of law.

Funny thing is that EPA is calling for public opinion this asking the public to submit ideas for what such a replacement rule would look like. This shouldn’t be open for public. Trump is relying on his supporters to vote on this? Only then he would be able to change it. Why didn’t they ask scientists about the opinion who all agree that would be terrible idea. Quite a few of them left EPA because they were overruled by Trump’s “experts” there who are not concerned about climate changes.

The next president will just put ruled into the place. Easy as that. Trump is only buying time while in office.

By the way, did you know a solar plane made a trip around the world without refueling? I doubt the inventor was a climate change denier.

But what do you expect when the president claims global warming is a Chinese conspiracy.

It's like dental hygienists talking brain surgery.  Run the parks and national forests.

Climate policies will continue to shape the global energy system. U.S. leadership is indispensable to countering an anti-growth energy agenda that is detrimental to U.S. economic and energy security interests.
