U.S. Calls On OPEC And Its Allies To Pump More Oil

Recommended Posts

U.S. is pressuring OPEC and its allies to boost oil output to tackle rising gasoline prices that they see as a threat to global economic recovery. Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan criticized the world's major oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, for what he said were insufficient crude production levels in the aftermath of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

This move is pretty bewildering given the cancellation of Keystone XL. And everything is happening two days after the most damning report yet from the IPCC.

The US doesn’t need any of that oil but I suppose Biden wants certain OPEC suppliers to raise supply but not buy from Iran, Russia and Venezuela and other countries. Talking points about oil get a little complicated considering it’s a world market.

The IPCC is recycling hysterical rhetoric in a vain attempt to frighten the world's politicians into an unthinking frenzy of terror. Intellectually disastrous.

Well I don't live there in the USA, so I probably know only a  little, but it seems to me the oil and gas industry are traditional sponsors and electorate of the Republicans.

In turn, all these green technologies are rather the Democratic sponsors and electorate.

Could it be that the Democrats have decided to finally wipe out the biggest industry that traditionally strongly supported their political opponents?

In general, it would be quite ruthless turn and in the context of the USA as whole country a really stupid move, but the political rivalry in the USA seems to be very fierce so why not?

Or maybe it's just my conspiracy theory.

Because frankly speaking, China as a global rival you raised for decades mostly by yourselves through Wall Street's greed for maximum profits and only it seems that Trump realized that suddenly all these factories were in China. And when it comes to factories then after some time there will be transfer of all newest  technologies to make profits even more impressive so finally you have a  problem.

Because in general, finishing of certain pipelines or gas pipelines and rejecting others  is rather difficult to rationally explain otherwise if one looks for logic in it, and not some concern for the environment, which will always lose competion with money.

It seems that oil and gas producers were rather aware of this because they put a strong bet on Trump last year because they had simply no other choice in the context of the Democrats' plans for oil and gas in their energy development concept.
