The Netherlands authorities will unseal bids to construct  two 350 megawatt offshore wind turbines, hoping at least some of the bids will be for wind power that doesn't rely on any susidies at all. It would be the second time that subsidy-free wind energy bids have been received, after a recent auction in Germany.

I agree that the governments should ament the rules in auctions. Spain's auction also resulted in subsidy free onshore wind and solar to be deployed in the next two years. The developers will receive only the wholesale price but if there is a big fall in average wholesale prices a compensation scheme will activate.

hmmm as a resident of the Netherlands, I also thought we already had subsidy free wind turbines, but I could've been mistaken

Germany had a subsidy-free wind energy bids first, but Netherlands is planning to complete this project two years before them.
