The reluctance of the US to tap SPR: is it a litmus test to gauge the sense of direction of the talks on the JCPOA?

Despite the steep rise in energy costs at home that caused a precipitous fall of the approval ratings of the Biden administration, its reluctance to tap the SPR has baffled analysts and politcal pundits in equal measure. Some analysts, meanwhile,  attribute the unexpeced development to a scenario of a possible  litmus test.

The SPDRs will help only for 3-4 Months. It may give a few Millions back according the higher USD. But for reducing Inflation the Interest rate must be increased by 50 Bps.
