Not really. You, on the other hand, are gone. Without the reserve currency status of the dollar, you are nobody and that status is effectively gone.

If Russia ever controls it again it can be destroyed or boycotted easily. Turkey can also block it. Anyone force could by just sinking some ships in the Bosporus or Dardanelles  Straits routes to the Mediterranean and beyond.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreux_Convention_Regarding_the_Regime_of_the_Straits#:~:text=The Montreux Convention regulates maritime, belonging to Black Sea states.

The Russian bridge to Crimea can also be easily destroyed. The same is true with all of its oil and natural gas pipelines.

Turkey map

Turkey obviously has no intention whatsoever to do anything like that. Did not join any Western sanctions on Russia, closed the Straits to all warships, not just Russia's. Why do you think that is?

Whatever ship attacks the bridge or the Russian pipeline, sinks. Everything floating in the Black Sea is inta-sinkable from Crimea, without the Russian Navy even leaving port. You cannot even send a carrier in, because the bridge over the Bosporus is "only" 57m at the span, which is way too little. Incidentally, there is already a "land bridge" from Crimea to Donetsk, in case you didn't know.

Do keep checking. The ruble recovered and is at 103 right now. I've seen as low as 96 already.

You're shooting yourself in a foot, is much worse. Watch for following things unfolding

a) Saudi Arabia starting to sell oil in yuan. (already announced) This would be the end of the petrodollar. Don't say I haven't warned you. Money that you can arbitrarily recall based on political preferences is no money at all. The more the dollar circulation is restricted to US alone, the less opportunity you have to offload the real inflation your government generates by "printing dollars" onto other countries. It is not possible for the USA to live according to its actual means, not even remotely. Crush.

b) Russia stops selling you uranium. No more nuclear power for you. Your electricity grid comes crashing down. There is no amount of windmills and (Chinese-made) solar panels that will compensate for this quick enough.

All Russian ships included and landing boats. We don't need ships to take out that bridge.

The land bridge should be eliminated before any peace treaty is formed. Not sure if it is actually safe for Russian troops.

Talk is cheap, Ron. You are going to do nothing, because you are afraid. The ships and the bridge are not exactly undefended, like you are used to.

USA will be the last party invited to contribute their wishes to the peace treaty now. You had your chance.

Putin seems determined to not look like a loser, at the expense of millions of people.

It is not Putin, but your puppet. He is fighting, so he doesn't have to recognize the de facto situation of Crimea and LDNR no longer being Ukraine.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, March 18

Mar 18, 2022 - Press ISW
ISW%20LOGO%20FINAL%20ACRONYM%20%20%20NAM

Ukrainian forces conducted a major successful counterattack around Mykolayiv in the past several days, and Russian forces continued to secure territorial gains only around Mariupol on March 18. Russian forces face growing morale and supply problems, including growing reports of self-mutilation among Russian troops to avoid deployment to Ukraine and shortages of key guided munitions. The Ukrainian General Staff continued to report on March 18 that Russia has failed to achieve its strategic objectives in Ukraine, including destroying the Ukrainian Armed Forces, capturing Kyiv, and establishing control over Ukraine to the east bank of the Dnipro River—the first time the Ukrainian General Staff included this territorial conquest as an explicit Russian objective. The Ukrainian General Staff additionally stated that Ukrainian forces “continue step by step to liberate the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in all directions” on March 18, the first Ukrainian mention of conducting counterattacks “in all directions.”

It’s wild to see Russias military get taken out so rapidly. I had falsely been led to believe they had a modern competent Air Force. Without air dominance how did Putin expect to protect his ground forces. That boy is one dumb ass. No water, no fuel, soldiers shooting themselves in the legs to get out of fighting, frostbite, so many tanks and trucks on roads exposed. Wow, what a mess. It’s like a high school team against professionals. I read over 500 tanks. So how many more y’all gonna kill off. 250 planes and helicopters. That seems like a lot for less than a month.

Pro-Kremlin Paper Claims It Was Hacked After Posting Alleged Russian Death Toll in Ukraine

A Ukrainian serviceman aims his weapon as he stands guard at a military checkpoint in Kharkiv on March 22, 2022. - Russia says it would like its peace talks with Ukraine to be "more substantial" after several rounds of inconclusive negotiations.

A Russian newspaper called Komsomolskaya Pravda, previously noted for its staunch loyalty to the Kremlin, published an article that quickly disappeared from the site on Sunday claiming 9,861 Russian troops have been killed during the invasion of Ukraine.

Numerous Western news organizations saved archival copies and screen grabs of the article before its apparent deletion.
