How Far Have We Really Gotten With Alternative Energy

There was no value in burning 100 cars in the lot Rittenhouse was guarding. But, they still burned the 100 cars.

There no value in smashing people's mailboxes, but it is still done.

W are not animals, who attack only for gai. Humans also have spite. If I don't have one, you can't have one.

Protection money for chsrging cords will be a goodm steady stream of income for cartels and gangs.

So there must be a lot of cartels and gangs out there making big bucks from protection money not to slash your tires.

Anything can be vandalized or stolen.  It is not an argument against EV's - try harder.

In American eyes, Merkel’s reputation has benefited from the comparison with Donald Trump, who singled her out as the democratic leader he disliked most. American journalists even touted her as the true leader of the free world, to jab at an American president who had abdicated that role. There is much to appreciate about her reticent style of leadership. But history may judge that, on one of the most consequential issues of her chancellorship, Merkel not only led from behind; she led in the wrong direction. And unfortunately for the world, Americans seem determined to follow Merkel’s path.

The next election will not be electing many Merkel types.

What part of that changes the result?

If being a criminal and having douche children prevents you from office trump wouldn't have had his one term (and two impeachments).

Keep the hope! It amuses me.

Durham prosecutors detail criminal probe into tech executive who worked on Trump-Russia back channel claims

Washington(CNN)Special counsel John Durham has an active and ongoing criminal probe into a tech executive who worked with a Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign lawyer to share claims of a cyber back channel between Donald Trump and Russia, prosecutors said in court Wednesday.

Prosecutors said the Durham team is still "looking closely" into whether Rodney Joffe, a tech executive and leading cybersecurity expert, defrauded the US government by misusing internet data from government contracts to search for derogatory information about Trump and Russia.

Pathetic? If going to post, know what you are posting. Dealers Fee and Sales Taxes alone are $1,500.00 depending on which state you live in.

220 Voltage is to supply the house itself; You will not get a Electrician, Pull a County Permit to add to an existing house 220 you are now well over $1,500.00!

Don't be such a Greene little bitch!

Richie every house that has a central air conditioning unit has 240 volt service. Heat pump systems require 240 volt. The Edison single phase 120/240 center tap single phase  is more than adequate to recharge an electric car.   All you need is 100 amp 240 volt  breaker in the main breaker box and conduit out to thee wall plug for charging.  The National Electric Code of 1971 established a minimum of 150 amp 120/240 vol grounded meter cans  That means a house built since January 1 1971  needs a 100 amp 240 volt single phase breaker,  less than 1 ft of conduit 1ft of four wire #8 THW bundle  and an appropriate 220 volt  Electric stove. dryer plug.  Total cost of materials  is less than $100.  A 12 year old  can do it them self if the y have an IQ of 90 or higher.   Whether you can install this yourself is contingent on the NEC rules  regarding home owner repair work in your local jurisdiction.

I hope your mother has child safe plugs in all wall outlets . When it comes to electricity, you need all of the protection possible from your own stupidity.

Ken Starr was factually 100% correct now wasn't he......  So, you agree that what EWO posted is factually correct.  Apparently you are QAnon... oh right, that is something utterly made up by the nutters who can't find a HOLE as it does not even exist.

One of the problems with EV's is that they are selling with hackable software. Just as bad are electronics that make repairs expensive. We already have cases where people have lost $billions in cryptocurrency and now people are losing access to the holograms they have married. Right now, it takes 1-6 months to repair a Tesla. How does one get to work during these months?

I believe we will have 95+% EV's on the road by 2200 with batteries that are the size of todays 12 volt batteries, have a range of 400+ miles and can be recharged < 10 minutes. Until then, progress will be incremental as we work out the kinks, one by one.

Until then, the best the government can do is increase demand via rebates, etc.

Unfortunately, we have many governments, including here in the US, who cater to the elite and give millions away for free to elite to increase supply.

All the self driving software is independent of drive train, the software in an ICE is just as hackable.

You are only 150 years late in your EV prediction.

This is a real measure of just how far we have gotten with alternative energy, remember that Queensland is the heart of coal country:

Queensland peaker plant proposal adds batteries, reduces planned gas turbine capacity

cs-energy-chinchilla-BESS.jpeg

A peaker plant in project in Queensland, Australia, which would have relied on 1,000MW of gas generation will instead use just 150MW of turbines and lean on large-scale battery storage to fill the gap.

Queensland’s state Planning and Environment Court (P&E Court) last week gave development approval to the proposal’s radical amendment for project owner Quinbrook Asset Management.

Quinbrook acquired the Lockyer Energy Project, near Gatton in Queensland’s Lockyer Valley region, back in 2009. The idea was to help replace local reliance on coal-fired generation to provide with something cleaner.

At the time, that meant adding peaking capacity with gas turbines. Peaker plants run only at times of high electricity demand, which means that they generally have a low capacity factor – in many instances they are only called into action for about 10% of the entire year, each year.

Although the original application for the Lockyer project which was acquired from developer Westlink was eventually approved in 2014, law firm Thynne & MacCartney said it represented Quinbrook at the Queensland P&E Court on 22 April seeking approval for the amendment – and got it.

Lockyer will now include 150MW of gas turbines, with an 850MW battery energy storage system (BESS). The megawatt-hour (MWh) capacity of the BESS was not mentioned in a Thynne & MacCartney announcement, but it is likely to be in the range to provide four-hours duration.

The hybrid gas-BESS solution would export energy for immediate use as well as store electricity for export at times of high demand. The law firm noted that when the Lockyer project was originally conceived, such an option would not have been considered feasible, but things have quickly changed in terms of the economics as well as technologies involved.

US Electric Vehicle Sales Soared in First Quarter, while Overall Auto Sales Slid

In a challenging few months for the auto industry, sales of electric vehicles are rising while just about every other category is falling.

U.S. electric vehicle sales rose 76 percent in the first quarter, which was enough to double EVs’ share of the market to 5.2 percent, up from 2.5 percent in the first quarter of 2021, according to Kelley Blue Book.

Overall sales of new cars and trucks were down 15.7 percent for the quarter as automakers dealt with shortages of computer chips and other vital supplies, leading to slowdowns in production.

You charge your car at night when other appliances aren't running. Even EWO's numbers put the average at only $1500 for the electrician.

Oh and Chevy pays for the level 2 installation bitch.

Chevrolet will cover standard installation of Level 2 charging outlet for eligible customers who purchase or lease a 2022 Bolt EUV or Bolt EV * , helping even more people experience how easy it is to live electric. In collaboration with Qmerit, the offer gives customers access to faster charging right where they want it  at home  and with the new available Dual Level Charge Cord standard on the MY22 Bolt EUV and available on 2022 Bolt EV * a standalone charging station is not required.

You are simply pathetic.

The car companies do not replace and upgrade the electric grid, that is up to the taxpayer to do.

Utilities and investors are also big players. There is also one car company, Tesla, that most certainly has been investing heavily in grid upgrades.

no the majority of all upgrades is done by your utility company. And you then pay for  the grid upgrades through your electric bill.....by the KWH rate and by the time of day or night use rates

For the most part the grid does not need upgrades for overnight charging of an EV as the grid in residential areas  only experiences around 30 percent of demand from 10 pm to 7 am compared to peak grid use at 6 PM......

You can bet that the use of smart meters and smart chargers will keep for the most part charging demand from EVs to night hours in ones home.....

In your cost analysis, did you factor in large scale vandalism, now that crime is considered victimless?

Does the law say your employer cannot fire you if someone cuts your apartment charging cord, making you a few hours late for work?

Will Evercharge send a car for you within 10 minutes to take you to work if your charging cord is cut? (an)d a car to take you home.)

Remember, thousands of packages are looted from trains every day, now that this is considered a victimless, no bail crime.

The first applies only if you are straight white male under age 40 with no disabilities and not a qualifying veteran.   I suggest you start remedial education beginning  with the second grade.   Some of the protected class are protected  by employer obligations to work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 5 years. 18 USC1513.

To come up with that crazy assed claim, you must have either an IQ of 40 or terminal Parkinson's Disease. No because he had a big problem with Brady vs Maryland by hiding and later investigators destroying evidence that contradicted his in court filings. Violation of FRCP 11. Lying to the court.

"Brady requires that prosecutors fully disclose to the accused all exculpatory evidence in their possession. Subsequent Supreme Court decisions have elaborated the Brady obligations to include the duty to disclose(1) impeachment evidence,2(2) favorable evidence in the absence of a request by the accused,3and (3) evidence in the possession of persons or organizations (e.g.,the police).https://www.uscourts.gov/sites/default/files/bradymat_1.pdf

Renewable electricity met 100% of California's electricity demand for the first time ever on Saturday,

The milestone lasted almost 15 minutes before edging back down to about 97 percent renewables.
