Justin Hicks + 162 JH June 25, 2018 Hello Any small vertical producers having issues with "frac hits" to their older wells by other companies? I'm in Oklahoma and several friends of mine are dealing with issues from frac hits by other companies close to their production. Effects range from watered out wells to completely sanded in. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission has recommendations of a 5 day notice to frac jobs encroaching within 1/2 mile, however fracture propagation is still causing damage. Shutting the well in to allow resevior pressure to build offers little resistance, as most of the affected wells are shallow low pressure wells. Anyone else having similar issues? 1
TomTom + 183 June 25, 2018 I heard that there are certain areas in South Texas where this is common - thought this article was pretty informative:Â https://www.spe.org/en/jpt/jpt-article-detail/?art=2819
BillKidd + 139 BK June 25, 2018 That would be a bummer to be a producer with a low-volume but profitable well and it gets killed!
