I wondered who would be the first to capitalize on the debacle that is PDVSA/Venezuela. I hadn't figured it would be Canada. 

Canadian miner Crystallex is asking a US judge for control over PDVSA-owned and US-based Citgo over a $1.2 billion unpaid settlement awarded to Crystallex last year.

I'm sure the US would be much happier gifting Citgo to a Canadian company rather than a Russian one.
