The interesting case of Pakistan

Pakistan has caught my attention in the last weeks and months due to its political instability, geopolitical risks for the region, the changing nature of its relationship with the United States, a traditional ally now not so much and its longstanding relationship with Saudi Arabia and its harboring of the taliban in many cases and situations. But also after important findings of gas and the growing position and role of the country as a transit country for gas in this troublesome country and how China and Russia altogether have been taking over control of the resources and the infrastructure and also of the arms industry, along with Saudi Arabia.

This is why Pakistan and especially after the victory of Imran Khan, allegedly an anti U.S. candidate, represents a case to be considered and monitored closely especially when the U.S. is ramping up its LNG and gas exports and industry globally, where Russia and China have been displacing Washington as a key partner of Pakistan and other Central Asian countries in the past.

Pakistan is run by the military, the politicians are mere window dressing.  

The military there is obsessed with India, and the Indian military is obsessed with Pakistan.  That is where your real problems are - up in the flashpoint, the Kashmir.  It seems to be unresolvable, a case of frozen war.  Probably the best the world can hope for.
