50 shades of black + 254 August 13, 2018 Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Vladimir Putin will discuss the war in Syria, the conflict in east Ukraine and a disputed pipeline to bring Russian gas to Germany during talks near Berlin on Saturday, a German government spokesman said. The two leaders, who last met in May, will each make statements before the start of the talks at the Meseberg palace outside the German capital, said Steffen Seibert, adding that Merkel and Putin would take no questions. Relations between the two countries have also been strained by the Nord Stream 2 project that will carry gas direct from Russia under the Baltic Sea to Germany. The United States says the project will increase Germany’s dependence on Russia for energy. Ukraine fears the pipeline will allow Russia to cut it off from the gas transit business. Germany’s eastern European neighbors, nervous of Russian encroachment, have also raised concerns about the project.
Pavel + 384 PP August 13, 2018 Nice schedule.... No conversation about annexation of Crimea? No questions about Skripal nerve agent poisoning? No condemnation of Russian involvement in Malaysia aircraft destruction over Ukraine? Let's just worry about Nordstream and energy Security!

Do you expect any different answer than those already received if they did talk about those issues? Why waste time and energy in a rare face to face meeting on issues that there is no common ground, meetings are about getting agreements not more arguments besides Germany is turning to Russia for gas as it has no alternative so it has to do something. Obviously its a mistake but having no gas to power your country is a bigger mistake. Energy supply is one of the most important issues a country faces. America has supported Saudi Arabia to secures an oil supply for years and conveniently ignores its human rights abuses. Why does no American president bring that up in meeting with the King of Saudi?
