More faulty logic from the luddite crowd. Fear change! For giggles, what the heck are you planning on posting that is so offensive? Maybe you should just be banned from social media altogether if you want to spread hate. If you are really concerned throw away your smartphone, far more to fear from it than any car. There is a near total lack of transparency in the Chinese data, without which we can only guess what is going on and who is potentially profiting from the investment schemes into stockpiled and unused EVs.

It also said this (after you selected what you want people to read) "That's good news for buyers hoping to test drive an EV before buying, something that hasn't always been easy amid supply shortages in recent years. It's also likely to help prices keep going even lower as inventory stacks up" and this:- "The jury is out right now on what's going to happen with all this new inventory there," he added. But it could solve a few big hurdles. One of the issues with EV adoption in recent years has been availability. Many automakers weren't producing EVs at scale yet, especially in the US, and thus the supply of the cars at dealerships had been limited. They also had reservation systems and long waitlists that meant it was unlikely a customer would be able to walk into a store and find an EV for purchase." More EVs on the lots might mean more deals are yet to come The bottom line is lets wait and see if these vehicles do get "stranded" on the lots or whether they actually provide the opportunity to test drive them and buy them without waiting 12 months which has been the case. it will also make for more competition and drive the price down to enable them to become more mainstream. You cant expect any industry which has suffered massively with supply constraints to suddenly finally deliver the supply required and then instantly sell the product, it will take some time so lets see what happens! if they dont sell then yeah you have a point if they do then your whole argument is rubbished.

They have invested so much and have plotted their long-term plans that are focused on EVs. You also seem to ignore the fact they keep getting cheaper...

Over the same period Tesla sold 466,140 EVs, 30 times more than GM at a 10% quarter-over-quarter growth rate. GM sold a total of 691,978 vehicles in Q2 meaning EVs made up just 2.3% of the company’s total sales, well below the US national EV market share which is now over 7%. GM SECOND QUARTER SALES RESULTS. SOURCE: GM GM 1ST HALF SALES RESULTS. SOURCE: GM The Q2 numbers are a worrying sign for the US carmaker which has talked a big game on EVs but is yet to deliver in any meaningful way. With companies like Tesla and BYD on track to hit close to 2 million EVs each this year, like many other legacy auto companies, GM looks like it’s being left behind. Big legacy auto floundering on EVs while providing vague excuses Just this week Volkswagen also announced that it’s cutting EV production at its Emden plant in Germany despite surging June EV sales figures in Europe. The company says the production cuts are due to “strong customer reluctance” to buy their EVs. https://thedriven.io/2023/07/06/worrying-signs-for-gm-as-its-ev-sales-plunge-and-legacy-auto-stares-into-abyss/ Edited August 26, 2023 by Eyes Wide Open
