Sofia + 35 SP September 6, 2018 The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment aid fell to near a 49-year low last week and private payrolls rose steadily in August, pointing to sustained labor market strength that should continue to underpin economic growth. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits fell to a seasonally adjusted 203,000 for the week ending Sept. 1, a drop of 10,000 from the previous week, the lowest level since December 1969. Nonfarm payrolls likely increased by 191,000 jobs in August, which would be an acceleration from the 157,000 jobs created in July.
Adam Varga + 123 AV September 6, 2018 Are we talking about quality jobs or part-time/ temp jobs with low wages and no benefits or healthy coverage?
Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK September 6, 2018 Yes, what about the vast number of people working temp jobs? They may not be filling for unemployment, but they are not comfotbaly employed either.
BlackTortoise + 103 CM September 6, 2018 Jobs galore yes! Adequate pay for these jobs? No really. Most minimum wage. People still having to work 2 - 3 jobs to make ends meet. Two parents still required to work. Student loans still required to pay tuition. Misleading!
