Marina Schwarz + 1,576 September 13, 2018 The latest from oil in Africa: Madagascar will hold a licensing round next year. And I thought all they had were lemurs and fascinating death rituals.
John Gammage + 19 October 15, 2018 They have all of that and much more. We drilled a few (sadly dry) onshore exploration wells for Shell in the early '90's and found the island to be the most fascinating and diverse place in every imaginable way. The people too were the most friendly that I have met although their language is totally unfathomable. There is a very small amount of onshore heavy oil production and I'm guessing that any new exploration will be offshore. To anyone going there, "please don't spoil this gem".
CMOP + 227 October 15, 2018 That's incredible. What a beautiful place (photos). And it has everything - desert, beaches, forest. It's a huge island but still! Not many would ever think about it.
