Euge 0 ES September 26, 2018 Hi All, I have just joined this forum and as my first post I was wondering what the broader oil/gas community thinks about career progression. I have been in my current job role for around 15 years and with my current company for the last 7 years. I have performed well in my duties, always the consummate employee and I have had awards and been commended for my work ethics and abilities. The problem is, I can never seem to get that elusive promotion to a higher role. I am good at what I do, but constantly get overlooked to go to the next step. My resume is current and I have made my intentions known but still cant seem to progress forward to the next level. Jobs often come up that I apply to, but I always seem to get the "thank you for applying but we have candidates that more closely match our needs" messages. In some cases I have known the person that got the role and they have definitely not been more closely matched to the role. I am not complaining as I have a good job, It's just I am now 44yrs and feel if I don't progress soon, I may never get looked at. Is there anyone else out there that has a similar predicament or even better someone that may be able to guide me or tell me what I am doing wrong?? Thank you for any comments, I appreciate your time Euge
