The former improves conductivity of copper wire at higher temperatures. The latter replaces some or all copper in wires, including aircraft cables and motor windings. CNT wire isn't yet economically viable, however rising copper prices certainly incentivize more R&D and investment in the space.

There is already plenty of incentives for graphene and nanotube research for other reasons. Small devices are much more likely to use them than for something like copper wire, but it could happen.  Copper is already an excellent conductor...
