Adam Varga + 123 AV January 3, 2018 (edited) With climate change the UK government set ambitious targets to reduce emissions by 57 percent by 2030. Alternatives like wind, solar and renewable energy are helping in this combat but many believe that nuclear could be the best solution. Is it nuclear really safer energy source than most of us think? Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK January 3, 2018 Nuclear safe energy source? Sounds incompatible to me.
Selva + 252 SP January 3, 2018 Although nuclear has a bad reputation I think it's possible to reduce emissions by replacing fossil fuels with renewable and nuclear energy. This two energy sources could both have a notable impact on controlling climate change.
Adam Varga + 123 AV January 3, 2018 I disagree. Nuclear could very ineffective in resolving climate change. If we compare all kinds of energy sources, nuclear is net producer of greenhouse gases.
Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK January 3, 2018 Yes, and even it emits less CO2 than electricity from coal, it would still create tens of thousands of tons of lethal high-level radioactive waste in this attempt to make a meaningful reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
