Distance or how far they have drifted from each other is probably of less concern? I'm not sure. Venezuela, Mexico seem to have problem or not smooth, in their oil journey. Castro was empowered to build the country. Nothing is probably incorrect with nationalized everything except consficated assets of a few who probably had empowered him. Things were ok until he let go of his grip on free things distributed. Personnel discrepancy from the order out of personal short fall fails it. Saw a video, the distribution is a mess. Some people received plenty. But, there were also cases where people had queued for one whole day and yet, nothing left for them to take home. Heard a comment somewhere:" To ruin a country is easy. You just need to appoint imbecile (or the corrupted) to rule." The difference between success and failure might be if one is granted to succeed or not.
