IMO, this is an obvious consequence of the post-2005 increase in global condensate production as a percentage of total global crude + condensate (C+C) production, and the corresponding decline in actual global crude oil production* as a percentage of global C+C production (see attached chart).

*Actual crude oil is generally defined as crude oil with a maximum API gravity of 45 degrees (max API gravity for WTI crude oil is 42 degrees).
