jose chalhoub + 388 December 8, 2018 Venezuela will assume from January 2019 the presidency of OPEC as a mere symbolic consolation prize ( of course its known that it corresponds to each member to hold this post yearly) but definitely is not coming at a right time for the country as it faces its worst oil crisis ever in the last 40 years or more and this is job is on person, current Minister Quevedo, who knows nothing much about oil and the international intricacies of how global oil geopolitics and markets play out and especially within OPEC, and as there are many rumours and theories that this minister and president of PDVSA will be probably out of these posts. Lets see how Venezuela will handle the dynamics of the organisation even if this is a symbolic post.
