Illurion + 894 IG January 17, 2019 Here in North Florida, we have used two coal-powered plants since the 1980's. The plants were built via a financial deal between two large Electric Companies. In 2017, the two companies decided to shut down, and destroy both coal-powered plants as they were no longer cost-effective. So, in the summer of 2018, the plants were destroyed, and the two large cooling towers were imploded. The land they occupied, which is very expensive, river-front property, is currently in the redevelopment stage. https://www.forconstructionpros.com/equipment/article/21032774/fl-twin-cooling-towers-second-largest-in-the-world-to-be-imploded https://www.jacksonville.com/news/metro/2017-03-17/jea-shutting-down-power-park-laying-200  Below is a really cool video of the cooling towers being imploded.  two towers imploded side by side at the same time.... https://www.orlandoweekly.com/Blogs/archives/2018/06/18/heres-an-extremely-satisfying-video-of-a-massive-implosion-at-a-florida-power-plant
