Exxon Accuses California Counties of Lying

Recommended Posts

So, Exxon is planning to sue several California municipalities for making markedly different statements regarding the environmental risks they face in the lawsuits they filed against Big Oil and in bonds issued in recent years. In the lawsuits, they claim they are all in danger of devastation caused by Big Oil. In the bonds, they say the risk cannot be estimated and in some bond offerings there is no mention of climate change and global warming as threats. I know Big Oil is bad for the environment but I'm with Exxon on this one. Lying is bad.

The oil companies should stop the sale of gas and diesel in California until these lawsuits are over.

A classic case of do as I say not as I do. Outrageous hypocrisies in government at both state and federal level are unfortunately part of our country's fabric these days.

I've given up entirely on listening to anyone on either side of this 'debate' (which is not a debate at all). It's all lobbying and it all stinks. Big Oil will fade away naturally, even they know this and are hedging their bets. It's got to be natural.
