India May Slam China with 70% Solar Panel Duty

Recommended Posts

India is trying to protect its local solar industry, or at least the Finance Ministry says so, with a proposal for a 70% duty on Chinese solar cells and modules. Is it me or is this way overprotectionist?

Solar becomes more and more viable as costs drop. While protecting domestic manufacturers is very important, it may be wiser to make them to reduce their costs in the long run Instead of protecting . The target should be to increase India’s  installed solar energy capacity.
