So, I used to work in the Bakken oil field and was surprised at the many fires that are burning off natural gas while pumping oil. I am not sure the reason though I assume competition and cost makes piping the gas out economically infeasible. Is there anyone familiar with the process of gas pumping and why at least thermo-electric generators have been considered for the burning fires?
