But that would very likely lead to another retaliation from the EU, which for now is distancing itself from Trump saying Iran is complying with its obligations under the 2015 deal. But there is talk that while they will extend the relief (unpopular among hardliners who were hoping for warmongering), they might (as a bone to the hardliners) add additional economic sanctions on certain Iranian businesses and officials for "supporting terrorist groups" (as in Shi'ites, not Sunnis (ISIS is Sunni).
