Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK March 27, 2019 Special solar-powered car parks where electric vehicles can be charged are to be set up in Scotland as part of a multi-million-pound UK trial. Potential sites across the country are considered, including council facilities, park and ride schemes, airports, offices and train stations. Million of pounds have been secured in funding for the scheme which will use solar panels and battery storage to charge cars and buses. Revolutionary vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology will also be employed at the hubs, allowing charged cars to feed electricity back to the smart grid where it can be used to power homes and businesses.
