Marina Schwarz + 1,576 January 16, 2018 The large-scale solar farm right next to the disaster site in Chernobyl is almost completed. Apparently, it's just the start of a renaissance for the area, if we are to believe Ukrainian authorities. How come the workers installing the solar panels are not wearing any protective gear, I wonder.
Missy + 43 MM January 16, 2018 That's a wonderful use of what would be otherwise wasted space. Protective gear, I would think, might be the minimum requirement? Sheesh.
TraderTate + 186 TS January 16, 2018 yeah, and it's only 100 meters from the sealed remains of the disaster...

Addy + 14 AW January 16, 2018 Looks like the company who is spearheading this project is Chernobyl Solar. Have they done anything else or is this their first project?
Marina Schwarz + 1,576 January 17, 2018 Looks like the company was specially set up for this project. Ah, so it's not just me wondering why they don't have protective gear. Could be working just a couple hours every day, though...
Selva + 252 SP January 18, 2018 Does this project has any sense at all? Not only that workers will need an adequate protection from radiation but they will need sun too. As long as I know, Ukraine is not really known by the abundant sunlight.
Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK January 18, 2018 Whatever you think they need for this project, what Ukraine really needs is this project, and it needs it badly. It could only be a huge help for their economy.
Adam Varga + 123 AV January 18, 2018 It makes no logistical sense. They could build it anywhere else in Ukraine and it would be more economical.
