Are there no other options but oil in Alaska? I realise the answer is probably no but I was wondering.

"Are there no other options but oil in Alaska?" You mean other minerals, or other energy sources?

Alaska is the biggest state in the US in terms of land area, and nearly the smallest in terms of population (600,000+ and shrinking).

"Other options" might be various forms of mineral extraction, natural gas, timber, or wind power (look up the wind resource charts of the Aleutians). The remaining question, however, is who would buy the products, and who would staff the facilities?
