Protestors will protest, State owned and controlled media will do a song and dance and a dog and pony show, protestors will go away or be forced to go away. Hydraulic fracturing on its own has been proven to cause seismic activity at the levels recorded and being promoted as a side effect of hydraulic fracturing. There has been evidence of produced water deep injection wells inducing seismic activity (in the US some in OH, PA, OK and TX). In some areas injection wells have been banned. In some parts of TX , deep injection disposal wells were banned due to the seismic activity associated with them. There is no reason to waste (dispose off the water) produced water, flow back water and frac water. There are technologies available to combat this issue. private equity has been investing hundreds of millions of $$ in the US to recycle , treat, reuse produced , flowback and frac water across the Permian and other producing basins. In CA, for many many years, Chevron has been treating produced water and providing that water to farmers for their groves, orchards and farm fields for irrigation. It is the same as flaring natgas and injecting the water. Very critical resources with value need to be used properly , recycled and reused in te best possible ways.
Marina Schwarz + 1,576 April 18, 2019 The quakes can't be made to go away, however, and they're not exactly a constructive force, even for China. So, I don't know...
