Toyota ditches EPA under pressure from environmentalists

Toyota Motor Corp. has ended talks with the Environmental Protection Agency to overhaul internal management practices at the agency. The decision comes more than a month after EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt announced in an off-the-cuff remark that he planned to hire Toyota to evaluate the agency’s internal practices and recommend some of the Japanese auto giant’s strategies to speed up reviews.

Fact is that the partnership represented a clear conflict of interest. The EPA directly regulates Toyota, and the automaker has lobbied aggressively to weaken Obama's administration fuel economy standards.

Years ago this would be embarrassing. Now it's just another day in the Trump administration.

The Department of Health and Human Services has announced a partnership with Philip Morris in which the tobacco giant will advise on ways to increase its efficiency.

McDonalds will also be partnering with HHS to help with public nutritional education

It is sad when they have no ethics at all and that without pressure they would still be there

Yep, I can see where they would have a lot of goals in common. One is tasked with protecting the environment, and the other is concerned with maximizing profits
