Yes, there were trillions spent by the government on foreign wars in Iraq and Afghanistan so that the government gets into big debt while armament companies make billions.  Did Kuwait ever compensate the U.S. for removing the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait?  Also, big banks take advantage of government spending.  Sometimes government nationalizing armaments and banks make sense when they are key industries that the government relies on and owes too much to.
