Protestors Storm BP AGM Despite High Security - Video

Climate Activists were forcibly removed from British Petroleum’s AGM in Aberdeen today after unveiling tape to put round the meeting while shouting “this is a crime scene!”.

Extinction Rebellion protestors made international headlines after shutting down central London last month, and the direct action group’s targeting of energy giant BP comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon declared a “climate emergency” at the end of April.

In a series of tweets following the action, Extinction Rebellion Scotland explained the “this is a crime scene” message.

“This is a crime scene. 250,000 people die a year due to the climate crisis.

“BP is responsible for 1.5 per cent of all global emissions. Decisions made in this room are directly responsible for deaths around the world.

“This is a crime scene. BP has trampled over indigenous rights. The Mapuche in Argentina. Drilling in sacred lands of the Gwich'in in Alaska.

“Displacing communities in Mozambique.

“This is a crime scene. BP invest less than 3 per cent in renewables.

“But promises to invest $52 billion on new oil and gas in the next decade.

“There is a climate emergency. Does this sound like a reasonable response?

“This is a crime scene. $30 million dollars a year are spent on greenwash. But we see through your lies. We know you lobbied for rollback on regulations.

“This is a crime scene. BP has lobbied against climate action, obstructing necessary legislation in the pursuit of profit. Hundreds of thousands of people die every year from climate impacts. And people in this room paid for that to worsen.

"The only thing you'll find in the middle of the road are stripes and dead armadillos" former Texas Land Commissioner Jim Hightower.

I take it you appreciate Spinal Tap.

And I inadvertently hit a dillo today. Did you know the darn things have a jump reflect? They tend to panic and jump into the vehicle driving over them.

This isn't ominous at all... EU / UN style unelected, unaccountable, global governance Uber Alles.

Pope Francis Demands ‘Global Governance’ to Combat Climate Change

Pope Francis has called for ‘global governance’ to combat climate change, declaring “the nation state cannot be considered an absolute.”

During an address to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, the Pope attacked “growing nationalism that neglects the common good” and urged for more globalism worldwide.

“The nation state cannot be considered as an absolute, as an island with respect to the surrounding context,” the Pontiff said, adding, “The nation state is no longer able to procure the common good of its populations alone.”

Summit.news reports: Pope Francis said that a “special authority legally and concordantly constituted” was necessary to facilitate the implementation of new climate change policies.

He went on to demand that power be transferred from nation states to “intergovernmental institutions that manage their common interests.”

“This universal common good, in turn, must acquire a more pronounced juridical value at international level,” concluded Francis.

I've been trying to suss out how 250,000 people are dying beneath our noses without us noticing. Then it hit me, first they panic, then they overdose on heroin. In the US that accounts for 60k per year, I'm sure the other countries can add in their share, and there you have it. The AGW demographic killing themselves like lemmings to get a head start on the global catastrophe of 1.5degrees temperature rise over 100 years, assuming the models are right…

Does anyone remember the hole in the ozone and how we were all going to sunburn to death?

What has happened to it? It seems to have healed itself.

This is sitcom material.

P.S. I want two independent sources on the 250,000 figure.

I guess when Freon  was banned, the ozone hole healed itself. Back then it was the ozone hole over the poles was going to cause all the ice to melt and we would be living a in water world!!! 🤣

All the idiots flock to leftist ideology, and that ideology discourages them from reproducing.  They're just killing themselves off.

Don't PANICcc!! If those were killed and are going to be killed by flood ....... we must counteract with sand from sahara and the blown over from Sahara to other countries e.g. Nigeria and China. And also let them sell soil from savanah....... By these... we help to reduce the severity of desertification; we help to solve what to do with barren savannah; we also help to reduce the severity of flood and the number of kills per year......!!! Now....... never say we oilers do nothing to help....... we have created new business opportunities that solve many problems at once............:oO.o9_9

Excellent point..... Therefore..... if we can patch up the ozone holes we would reduce the rate of ice melting and permafrost melting and sea water rising and no need to build boats for houses or build underwater houses and etc etc??!:oO.o:$

Dow Chemical was about to lose their patent protection for Freon. So they paid Singer to find a problem with chlorofluorocarbons and he did. Then they magically came out with the replacement with lots of bright, shiny new patents protecting it. 4 times as expensive and 1/4 as effective.

He was so ashamed later that when he recognized the exact same techniques being used for AGW he made sure to take a stand against it. Character assassination soon followed.

Apparently it has because of the CFCs used in bad day hair aerosols, I think it’s a tipo and they actually meant something else...😂😂

the hole conveniently moved to China (pardon the source) https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-44738952

On a serious note, hole is still there and changing with season http://www.theozonehole.com/index.htm

In trying to ascertain who this Singer guy was, I only found one article in Popular Science that stated he (S. Fred Singer) testified in a congressional hearing that CFCs were not a problem, rather than saying there was one.  Furthermore, the article pointed out that he was alone against thousands of other scientists that took the opposite view.  By the way, it would be helpful if you guys would stop using abbreviations when not using common terms, at least the first time.

We, mostly, eliminated CFC's / ODS.  They used to be in everything - like hairspray when big hair styles were popular.

It healed itself after we stopped poisoning it.  The ozone layer is an example of how we can reverse environmental damage if we put our minds to it.

Catalytic converters and other technologies greatly reduced acid rain too.

If you honestly believe that the recent ban on CFC's is the reason that the hole in the ozone layer healed and closed since the ban was put in place, a very short time in the scope of natural phenomena, you are deluding yourself!

Furthermore, the ban of CFC's in cooling systems forced the use of less efficient mediums, WHICH REQUIRED MORE ENERGY FROM FOSSIL FUELS TO GET THE SAME LEVEL OF COOLING!

Ozone hole is the same size.  https://ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.gov/

Acid rain... could be measured and cause known

Climate Change.... Yea it is happening; always has.  Cause?  Unknown other than MOST of it is natural at the least.

The Montreal protocol isn't that new and is having a measurable effect on ODS levels.  You guy poo poo every environmental action, nothings perfect...

I did work on the enforcement side so I may be a bit biased on that one.

Sampling imported "silly string" and odd canisters was a lot more fun than some other analysis.  "Sample disposal" (if they were clean) was fun!

The Montreal Protocol was not even a blink of an eye ago in terms of Mother Nature.
