Musk Thinks Tesla is Under Attack By The Fossil Fuel Industry

In series of tweets, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he believes that the automaker is under attack by the fossil fuel industry as well as the traditional auto industry.

“Tesla is affecting powerful vested interests. Big auto and oil companies aren’t known for their gentle behavior. SpaceX is battling US military prime contractors and space programs of national governments. No walk in the park there.”

Conspiracy theory or just being paranoid?

Elon Musk is a con. The company is not being attacked by the fossil fuel industry, analysts all over the Wall Street are seeing through his nonsense and downgrading Tesla as a stock because of his erratic calls and tweets and bad company performance. The fossil fuel industry does not have to do anything. Tesla is doing great making their own problems.

I think you are both right and wrong.  I don't know that Musk is a "con" as much as he is a visionary that is a little too idealistic.  But maybe you have to be to create a revolutionary product such as an electric car.  The movie Tucker was also about a visionary car maker.  He failed and the movie made him out to be someone the big companies sought to crush with dirty tricks.  However, many of his innovations are still in use today, such as seat belts.  There has been a lot of talk that Tesla's stock was overvalued; and it has kept up its valuation because it was seen as a technology company as much as a car company.  Whatever you think of him -- or the company -- Tesla vehicles are here to stay, even if Elon Musk is not running the company.

The only vision(s) Elon has , are of his bank accounts and pockets full of billions and billions of $$$$ and smoke coming out of his ears, nose and eyes LOL. He sees TESLA under attack when he is surrounded by a lot of haze , he should move to Denver, he can have all the mind altering drugs LOL

With regards to electric cars that are mostly fueled by coal power plants, is this is no different than having hydrogen powered cars whose hydrogen fuel source comes from methane?

Yea that seems the "cool" thing to do these days. Blame the oil companies, Musk does not know how to run a company.

He is the CEO of the company,  runs the company , but he also runs his mouth a lot more than he runs the company (into the ground) 🤣

There is, of course, passive resistance. Any other resistance would have to be proven. It is also obvious that Musk has had lots of support from fans and governments. Electric vehicles have been subsidized. Musk is now in deep doo doo because Tesla is losing subsidies. He has had lots of good press and little bad press. All in all, I would say has greatly benefitted from support and had relatively little criticism.

Sadly, and the best way to replace it is with natural gas which is clean, cheap, and abundant. America has won the race to cleaner air with increased use of natural gas and less coal usage. We can do far more by replacing and converting diesel trucks and other vehicles with natural gas.
