Alaskan Tribal Administrator's Rebuttal to Anti - Oil & Gas Bill: "Human Rights" bill ignores humans and their rights

Eloquent rebuttal by an Alaskan Native Tribal Administrator against the U.S. bill to prevent oil & gas development in their native lands.

The self-serving California Democrat led anti - oil & gas intiative is exposed for the hoax that it is.

Nicely penned, I would urge anyone who is pro - oil & gas to read the full text by the local Alaskan native leader.  Excerpts below:

Human rights bill ignores humans and their rights

On May 1, the House Natural Resources Committee approved H.R. 1146, repealing the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, or ANWR, oil and gas program. While Democrats pat each other on the back and push for a full hearing and vote on the House floor, I’m left to wonder how legislation lauded as a human rights bill could advance while completely ignoring the humans and the rights of those of us who live where drilling would occur.

The Iñupiat of Alaska’s North Slope have fought for decades to open a small portion of the refuge to development. We worked diligently with our congressional delegates toward passage of Section 20001 of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which opened the non-wilderness section of ANWR to oil and gas leasing. H.R. 1146 undermines those efforts and specifically denies the Iñupiat people of Kaktovik, who live inside the 1002 Area where drilling would occur, the sovereign right to develop our land and resources.

Of course, no anti-development bill would be complete without playing the climate change card, and this one doesn’t disappoint, citing the unprecedented level of climate impact taking place in the Arctic. According to cosponsor Rep. Mike Levin, D-Calif., during the May 1 bill markup, drilling in ANWR will only exacerbate the changing climate. Ironically, the extraction of oil and gas is not what’s changing our homeland in unprecedented ways, but rather global warming attributed to the gross overconsumption of the resource by people in faraway urban centers like California.

Thanks for the good spot on that article. It does show the bias in Democrat led Congress. ANWR is not any different than West Texas and the beauty lies within the beholder. To keep it off limits in this day and age is not right. Oil Field management is at its best now. We need oil, and ANWR has 10bbls+ and a pipeline not so far away. Eventually it will get drilled, just need right gov officials in place.

The arrogance of Congress to dictate to the Inupiat people how they should manage their resources and ignore their desires is nothing less than an abuse of power.

Granted, there needs to be a certain level of oversight so that, for example, an under engineered pipeline does not cross the nesting area of a truly endangered species, but this is not what Congress is doing today. They are simply trying to garner votes from the Green Team at the expense of others welfare and common sense.

Just look at the arrogant, "green" steroid hyped up members of congress. They want to control everything and everyone under the sun.

Look the events and the divisive politics played the the left leaning politicians and so called celebs, protesting the Dakota pipeline. What a mess that was. These people just are NO to anything and everything that doesnt fit their agenda and narrative of scare mongering.

Again, if it is so bad, stop using anything and everything made from fossil fuels. It would be funny if a group sued them for using these resources while they push to shut down the production of these resources. A CEASE and DESIST  LOL.

Fear mongering about everything, divisive politics, identity politics, to grab power. In your face, in your wallet, in your bank account, in your house, in your work, dictate your life, what to eat, who you should be friends with, what your beliefs should be, what to drink, how to eat and how to drink and so on.

I think the response to these folks should be WE ARE AMERICANS and WE VOTE for AMERICANS. I dont want to be labeled as a hyphenated American, I am simply an AMERICAN, stop dividing and stop creating neat little compartments to put people into that they can use to gain or steal votes.
