Douglas Buckland + 6,308 June 6, 2019 I just read an article on OilPrice which indicated that the amount of gas being flared in the shale oil plays has now reached an astonishing level. With several of the multinationals either showing interest in entering this segment of the industry, or having already become players, I wonder how their new, 'green' management intend to address this issue? If they can not permit and quickly build gas pipelines to market, and stop the flaring, they risk losing any of the politically correct, 'green' capital which they have recently been trying so hard to garner. It will be interesting to see if they 'put their money where their mouth is and reduce oil production to an appropriate level to reduce flaring to agreed or mandated levels until the required pipelines are permitted, constructed and operational. 1
