Can EVs Benefit Coal?

Recommended Posts

Electric cars will drive higher electricity demand and higher coal and gas demand, too, says Forbes' Jude Clemente. Now, I rarely agree with Clemente's arguments but he seems to have a point here. Unless solar and wind adoptions doesn't boom suddenly, which is unlikely to happen.

Coal power in the United States accounted for 39% of the country's electricity production at utility-scale facilities in 2014, 33% in 2015, and 30.4% in 2016.

Seems kind of significant.
