Who gets rich off [government investment in developing the Internet]? Who gets rich off [the Human Genome Project]? Who gets rich off [the Apollo Program]? $4.5 trillion divided by ten years is $450 billion per year. The Pentagon budget will be at least $600 billion for the foreseeable future. Who gets rich off of that?
Douglas Buckland + 6,308 June 28, 2019 Who gets rich off of military R&D? We all do! If you take a good, hard look at many pieces of industrial equipment, somewhere you'll find the term 'milspec' in the documentation. That implies that the piece of equipment or the component was either designed or manufactured to a 'military specification'. Granted, at the time the spec was written, it likely had a military application. Eventually that spec filtered into the private sector. Years ago, when I actually worked for a living on the rigs, much of our high pressure blowout equipment was built to a milspec.
