OPEC said oil and gas remained part of key solutions in combating climate change. 

“We believe that oil and gas are part of the solutions to climate change and the solution lies in technology, appropriate policies and corporate decisions, said Secretary General of the organisation, Mohammad Barkindo. He, however, noted that focus should be on how to combat green house gas emissions in particular CO 2 emissions from fossil fuels, adding that the solution does not lie in combating the use of oil and gas but adopting technology.

Since planes use said "fossil fuel" they are up higher in atmosphere placing the CO 2 closer to that edge creating in essence if you will a blanket of green house gas to worsen the problem. 

Think about it, it would take time albeit not that long for exhaust from the evil automobile to reach the altitude where planes are flying. Planes by logical conclusion seem to be the real problem due to the very nature that they use copious amount of fuel at altitude ejecting CO 2.
