rainman + 263 July 31, 2019 The Trump administration says it will set up a system allowing Americans to legally access lower-cost prescription drugs from Canada. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar made the announcement Wednesday morning. Azar, a former drug industry executive, says U.S. patients will be able to import medications safely and effectively, with oversight from the Food and Drug Administration. States, drug wholesalers and pharmacists would act as intermediaries for consumers.

Peter McClintock + 1 August 1, 2019 Just allow people to buy direct from Canada or EU with a prescription. No red tape or government interference needed.
Ward Smith + 6,615 August 1, 2019 Luckily pharma is a big user of hydrocarbons, otherwise this would be off topic. To get the drug bill passed under Bush, Congress had to agree (with their masters) that negotiating better prices with the pharmaceutical industry was off the table. So democrats and republicans cashed their checks, swallowed their honor, and sold out, as usual… Canada of course made no such promise, which is why they enjoy lower prices for the exact same drugs.
