China is the king of 'soft power'. Everything's nefarious. But China's soft power is, from a Machiavellian perspective, is the smartest on the geopolitical scene. They don't occupy countries; they don't overthrow regimes and call it their democratic duty. They buy countries. They own them. They render the dependent.
