Graphene batteries - batteries of future or not?

New graphene-based battery material has a charging speed 5 times faster than lithium-ion batteries. Standard lithium battery requires charging time of at least an hour to fully charge, while a battery based on the "graphene ball" material would require only 12 minutes to fully charge. Whether this battery would replace the lithium battery?

It certainly should if they can come up with a way to make graphene economical - unfortunately, every attempt at creating graphene on the cheap so far has failed. To me - it will be the single most important breakthrough of a generation if it is achieved, the possibilities with graphene are endless

Lithium Ion batteries are only a small section of the market that be will upturned by graphene IF a breakthrough happens. Until then, Musk can sleep easy.

This one has real promise though given that it's an actual battery producing corporation that has done the research, and it's less about this being a brand new technology, then a supposedly manufacturing feasible version of something that has been shown in labs.

Not sure if Musk can sleep easy, especially after the most powerful people in this industry say that EV future belongs to China.
