Clearly no one has any idea what's going on. You can read 1000 different stories on the stock market 'crash' and what happened to the Dow over the last couple of days, and every one of them leaves with this knowledge: no one has a clue.

Yep, we should all stop pretending we get any of this. Even the WSJ yesterday advised us to "stop trying to make sense of the stock market".
