China's factory activity seen contracting for sixth month on trade pressure: Reuters poll

BEIJING (Reuters) - China’s factory activity is expected to have shrunk for the sixth month in October, a Reuters poll showed, suggesting hardly any let up in pressure on the domestic and export sectors from slowing global demand and a trade war with the United States.

I didn't like obama at all, his entire focus was on getting that ignorant aca passed and sticking it to the working people of America. We are just starting to find out all the dishonest trickery that he pulled while in office, and do you remember when he told us all that manufacturing was leaving the United States. I have never hated a POTUS as much as I hated him, worthless peice of shite he is....

President Obama lifted the export restrictions on oil and gas. He ran on a platform that promoted natural gas to replace coal as a transition into renewables. These are a couple positives that come to mind. I'm sure there are more, but it probably depends on your point of view lol

You have to admit: the First Lady is one fine-looking woman!

P.S.:  every President needs an immigrant for a wife!  Sets a good example for welcoming the immigrants....

That's a double negative, so basically you are saying he is similar to Jesus.

PS - Jesus was clearly a socialist.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Bank lending to euro zone companies fell last month with all big countries recording drops, suggesting that the bloc’s economic slowdown is increasingly persistent and widespread, data from the European Central Bank showed on Monday. Hoping to arrest a lengthy economic slump originating mostly from Germany’s vast industrial sector, the ECB approved a fresh stimulus scheme last month, partly aimed at banks so they would continue to provide credit to the real economy. But data suggests that the slowdown is spreading to other countries and also to the services sector, pointing to a protracted period of anaemic growth that is weighing on jobs growth. Indeed, corporate lending growth across the 19-member currency bloc slowed to 3.7% in September from 4.3% in August, with France, Germany, Italy and Spain all showing drops. The monthly flow of credit to corporations across the bloc was a negative 8.1 billion, the biggest monthly drop since January 2015 and the first negative reading since January 2019. In France alone, the monthly credit growth rate fell to 6.7% from 8.3% in August, as monthly flows were negative 11.7 billion euros (10.11 billion pounds), indicating that banks were withdrawing credit from the economy.

Sounds great

EU bad / ECB bad

Politicians in general. Blatant lies and in-decent behaviour really rubs me the wrong.. And for the avoidance of doubt this goes for most of the spectre - left and right, but obviously some stand out more than others.

And that is perfectly fine. seriously.

I just don't get why you need to attack the EU to make that point. There are loads of factual problems with the EU to point out. Do that.

The UK financial sector proposed a broader and novel “mutual recognition” approach two years ago, whereby the UK and EU would agree to accept each others’ rules. But the EU shot it down - believing Britain should not enjoy the same privileges outside the bloc as it did inside.

Yep, that sounds about right ...

I am pretty sure this was in context of : if you want all the benefits then accept the cost. You cannot pick and choose. If memory serves this went to free movement of labour.

Accepting each other's rules is us having all the benefits?

PFF - have you visited China recently?

I am not sure I understand the point you are trying to make? A little background for my view-point / understanding:

1) the "city" proposal meant that city would remain the financial capital of Europe. Something that gives a lot jobs / financial growth to the UK

2) EU was open to the idea, but said in return UK should accept free movement of labor. This was a deal-breaker for the UK. I am not sure why. Free movement of labour just means that any EU citizen are allowed to work in the UK as long as they follow UK and pay UK taxes. And then they will be entitled to UK benefits. So, if you pay taxes in the UK you are allowed UK benefits - seems fair to me.

The biggest drain on finances in the UK is the NHS

In England alone (forget Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland) the budget for 2019 is £139.3 billion!

There are an estimated 57 million people living in England

All immigrants/migrants (legal or not) currently can access this and pay nothing towards it. In fact this is abused by a lot of Commonwealth countries also as many Indian and Pakistani "relatives" fly in for operations and subsequently fly back after they have recovered.

I will probably be accused of being racist on here (which I am not by the way) but why should I and other UK taxpayers who have paid taxes all their working lives pay for all of this?

You said "seems fair to me"

No it absolutely isn't a fair system!

If Denmark offered free healthcare to all and it was abused in this way would you be happy?

It is not the EUs fault that there are illegal immigrants in the UK (we have the same problem in Denmark BTW). I said that it is fair that EU citizens that pay tax in the UK get UK benefits.

We do. And it gets abused. And I want it fixed. I just want a different solution.

Yes but free movement of people (EU migrants) who have paid no tax EVER have the right to access this free of charge from day 1 FACT!

Sorry Rasmus, if you had free healthcare for all you could appreciate this point, but you dont, but it makes me very angry when this topic is raised. This is why migrants by-pass Germany, France etc and come to the UK. It is why there are massive migrant camps in Normandy!

I agree if they pay for their treatment no problem, unfortunately they dont and never have done, so its a massive problem and may explain why so many people in the UK voted for Brexit.
