Talking about diet, was hearing something interesting from my mother few days ago. I was eating on banana that used to be fed to pigs when my grandmother was a small back yard business farmer for poultry and pigs ages ago. Yikes??!! 😖 Not at all.... The banana was not sweet, a lot of fibre, filling. It triggers a thought: could it be food fed to the pigs and cows changes over time that causes unhealthy pork and beef with a lot more cholesterol?? A quick check on google shows pig nowadays are fed oil to make them grow fat faster...'o' Therefore, if we were to have hearty meat but low on cholesterol, we can do it by feed them old food like unsweetened banana species, shredded banana tree trunks, floating leaves, grass ( for cow) etc... Accidentally visited an aquaculture farm that feeds intestines of poultry to fish. Although it is understandable costs of feeding increases a lot, shall small fish and nutritious fish pellets are used, something will change somehow because of the intestines fed. An outbreak or such... If i have plenty of money, i would set up my own farms to provide my needs...... Nothing in the market would seem edible after some times... Nothing in the market would seem edible after some times... You don't need "plenty of money" to start your own mini-farm. I plant tomatoes,beets, and radishes every spring. Raspberries and several other edible greens all come in on their own each year. I also forage for mushrooms; common fairly ring mushrooms, meadow mushrooms and puffball mushrooms are easy to find once you know how to look. I do not like hunting big game, but I really enjoy fishing. Rainbow trout are fun to catch and delicious. I've caught a salmon once that would sell for over $200, but we ate it.
