Active Oil Rigs

I'm sure Ms Geiger is sincere in her reporting, but why aren't the 1000's of Oil Rigs in CA not included?

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/99-Oil-Rigs-Gone-And-Counting-Rig-Count-Falls-Again.html

Because they're not there. There are thousands of "Dipping Donkeys" but precious few drilling rigs. The ones that are present are mostly in the old "Lost Hills" field, which is near Bakersfield and has been the most prolific shallow oil field in the history of the United States. But the governor of Ca has been pretty vicious on oil drilling. The Monterey Shale is as big a shale field as exists--Permian excluded--but there is a ban on fracking.

Is the person posting this counting pump jacks, and not drilling rigs!

There is a huge difference between the two!

There you have it: 15 rigs in all of California.

California could be huge in oil and gas--probably bigger than Texas--but they have this erection for the stuff.

Oh well . . .

If our Tree Hugging Governor gets his way, there will be no "new" drilling rigs at all.

Sorry  for my ignorance on the definition of "Oil Rig". I majored in Finance not Geology.

It's ok, few geologists know what a drilling rig is either 😊

Your all good.

In my crazy thinking, with diesel well over 4.00$ a gallon, a lot of goods are shipped by trucks to Califonia. I propose all semi-truck drivers stop at the border and have their own team of drivers pick up and go to point of delivery.

Trucking companies ought to follow the lead of UPS who just bought 6,000 more natural gas trucks. If they set up their own pumps it would be about one dollar per gasoline equivalent GGE. There is also a pretty good network selling for two to three dollars a GGE.

I know of at least 5 rigs currently "turning right" in Kansas and multiple in Nebraska too. Baker's numbers are a little off.

Good to hear that UPS are using their brains. Apparently, Amazon has ordered 15,000 electric delivery vans.
