Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK February 19, 2018 Last year India announced it aims to have mostly electric vehicles by 2030. but its dependence on imported components for electric vehicles could make the country vulnerable to cyber-security breaches. This country needs a push toward local manufacturing.

Adam Varga + 123 AV February 19, 2018 India is very ambitious about electric cars but also doing its best to achieve this goal. Their government even bought 10,000 electric cars just to show how serious they are about this. But again, they will need much more than will and desire. Selva + 252 SP February 19, 2018 In a country like India, where about 3 million fossil fuel powered vehicles sell annually, it will be very hard to make it happen. But other automakers such as Hyundai, are interested to introduce their EVs in India, so this could be India's push up towards its goal, at least part of it. It is the way banks work in India. Huge banking frauds exposures are happening now and financial frauds are at their peak now.

Selva + 252 SP February 20, 2018 No domestic manufacturing is the biggest problem. Right now local EV makers import about 80% of the parts for Evs. That also includes the battery and its management system. If they want to keep their electric vehicles and the grid safe, they will have to put serious efforts to enable software and at least 55% of the components to be made in the country. That is the only solution.
Vlad Kovalenko + 115 VK February 20, 2018 China is the best example of that. Its manufacturers make every single part of the electric cars in the country.
