Here you are, Sir: USA Corruption Report In line with this discussion, I find it interesting that the opening paragraph cites President Trump being under investigation, as if that makes him somehow guilty. To the point of your comment, Ron, the Left/Democrats are all-in to accuse publicly and loudly in an effort to instill the implication of guilt where none can be found, let alone proven. I have no issue with investigations into legitimate accusations based on evidence, because legitimate accusations based on evidence are what justice is all about. Frivolous, or worse, accusations with no evidence to support them are a stain on the fabric of any nation. This opening paragraph, I think, reflects how the Left/Democrats will see to it that references to accusations/investigations (without merit, so far) into the Trump Administration find their way into the oddest places: "Corruption does not represent a significant business risk for foreign investors in the US. The US offers a competitive market and abundant business opportunities; however, companies should be prepared to deal with bureaucracy due to the decentralized structure and business activities governed by federal, state, county and municipal laws. Business costs are increased by extensive anti-corruption legislation and tough requirements for compliance and internal controls. As of the time of review, numerous investigations into conflicts of interest against President Trump, his cabinet members, and other close associates are ongoing. Money laundering, abuse of office, extortion and commercial bribery are prohibited by law. Companies should be aware that the US government actively and effectively enforces the established anti-corruption legislative framework, including the FCPA. The FCPA provides a narrow exception for facilitation payments and for recorded gifts of appropriate, minimal value. While gifts and facilitation payments are uncommon in practice, they may violate other anti-corruption laws depending on their value and purpose."

Richard D + 86 RD March 1, 2020 Regarding freedom of expression within the European Union,I was astonished to read that all newspapers in France are subsidised. This even includes the communist paper. No wonder that corruption and government waste thrive there. The UK paper 'Daily Worker' was subsidised by the Soviet Government;it did so by buying most of the print run. The two leftist papers in the UK today are run by trusts. I am not able to ascertain anything about these trusts, particularly where they get their money. The BBC has received millions of pounds in 'development loans' from the European Commission. It has frequently been called 'the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation. 3

Tom Kirkman + 8,860 March 15, 2020 On 2/26/2020 at 9:15 AM, Rob Plant said: A common misconception regarding the EU from countries outside the EU is that they believe the representatives in the European parliament are "UNELECTED", this is NOT true. There are frequent European parliament elections where the people are invited to vote for their candidate just as in a general election. ‘Euroleaks’: Varoufakis LEAKS recordings of secretive Eurogroup talks on Greece in fight for ‘democratization of the EU’ The former finance minister of Greece, Yanis Varoufakis, has released a cache of audio files, secretly recorded in 2015 during the bailout talks with the Eurogroup – a powerful group of eurozone’s finance chiefs. The recordings and their transcripts were released by Varoufakis on the website of his ‘pan-European’ DiEM25 party on Saturday. The files –dubbed ‘Euroleaks’– were recorded between February and July 2015, when cash-strapped Athens was entangled in painful talks with its creditors. In 2015, Varoufakis was the chief negotiator for then-ruling Syriza party, dealing with the Eurogroup and those behind it – the so-called ‘troika.’ It comprises the three main lenders of the eurozone nations – the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund. While the Eurogroup is de-jure an informal group, it is actually a powerful decision-making institute that lacks accountability and transparency – and does not keep any records. The main goal in releasing the recordings is to shed light on its secretive activities, Varoufakis said in a video announcing the Euroleaks. " The Eurogroup’s three does not keep minutes, the European Union Council is still shrouded in total opacity. It’s about time we change that. " The lenders took a tough, ‘take it or leave it’ stance on Greece, effectively presenting it with an ultimatum. At the same time, they blamed Greek negotiators for stalled talks – and no records were available to prove them wrong. “You will hear the [then-]president of the Eurogroup [Jeroen Dijsselbloem] and other ministers warn me that if I dare table written proposals within the Eurogroup meetings, that would be the end of the negotiations,” Varoufakis said. “At the very same time they were leaking to the press that I was arriving at Eurogroup meetings without any proposals.” Apart from bringing into the limelight the “intransparent action by an unelected group of politicians who influence all our lives,” the leaks also serve another purpose. The putting in the public domain of the secret recordings is aimed at fighting attempts by the incumbent Greek government to “weaponize fake news,” produced by the Eurogroup back in 2015 to justify new austerity measures for the country, Varoufakis said. Daniel Ryslink + 19 March 25, 2020 "Illegal immigration is ILLEGAL" - yet another misinformation. Asylum seeking is not illegal, and all the EU states have signed international treaties after WW2 that oblige them to fairly evaluate every asylum request, and if justified, provide asylum for those who seek it. What is ILLEGAL is shooting into people running with children in their arms across the barbed wire, sinking the overcrowded boats and rafts they are using to cross the Mediterranean, robbing them and abusing them - that's what's ILLEGAL.

Let me see, “illegal immigration” is NOT illegal. Then why bother with the qualifier ‘illegal’? I need to have a word with my high school English teacher... Asylum is not illegal - correct. Asylum requires you to stop in the first ‘safe haven’ you arrive at and apply for sanctuary. ECONOMIC ASYLUM is ILLEGAL! You are not allowed to pick your ‘safe haven’ based on the economic benefits you accrue! Asylum is to avoid religious and political persecution, etc...which causes you to fear for your life. It was never intended to allow you to seek a better economic situation! Why would anyone think it is okay to travel to another country and reap benefits from a system which they have never paid into! What happened to the idea that if your country is broken, it is your job to fix it...not simply run away.

Douglas Buckland + 6,308 March 25, 2020 We just got told that they are extending lockdown by another 2 weeks! We just got through week one! We will essentially be under house arrest until 15 April now. Unlike other places, you are not supposed to leave your house for ANY reason except food or medicine. No going out for walks, walking the dog, exercise, etc... You can’t even walk to the store with your wife....got to go alone. It is going to be a tough 3 weeks! Jan van Eck + 7,558 MG March 25, 2020 Getting back to the original post, "Marcel de Graff" is properly spelled as "de Graaff" [two letters "a"]. His Party is the PVV, or the Freedom Party in english. He has made some interesting comments in the past, including his more famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) comment: he has said that Islam is “incompatible with Western civilisation.” That is an interesting observation. I suspect that it is historically true. Whether it was the Moors pushing into Spain or the Crusaders pushing into Jerusalem, nobody was taking prisoners. The mutual slaughter assuredly made Islam incompatible with Western civilization. I don't much care for Mr. de Graaff as he makes Dutch people look bad. That said, to deny that there are Dutch people with serious antipathies towards Muslim immigrants would be putting one's head in the sand. The larger group in Holland comes from Morocco; the young women that I have met there that work in retail outlets (typically as cashiers) are uniformly pleasant. From what I can make of it, it is the males that are being shunned by the Dutch, and vice versa. And that invariably leads to a poor outcome. 2

Hard to do when Mr. Assad is dropping barrel bombs and chemical weapons on your residential neighborhood. Since nobody seems inclined to assassinate Mr. Assad (notwithstanding that he richly deserves it), the only realistic thing to do if you are underneath in say Aleppo, is to flee. Both the West and the Russians could deal with Mr. Assad by dropping a cruise missile into his hip pocket. He is kept around because he is handy for keeping things destabilized, which seems to suit the Russians just fine.
Douglas Buckland + 6,308 March 25, 2020 True Jan, you flee to the nearest safe haven! You do not flee across the Med into places that do not even remotely resemble your home country. Then you have the issue of those people wanting to create enclaves mimicking what they left and refusing to assimilate into or embrace the cultures which are providing them sanctuary. What do they expect will eventually happen?
