Mike Tyson I am seeing a reactive posture everywhere I look which means we have been punched in the mouth and now looking for a plan. I am a green prepper who has been working on resilience for 15 years and my ass still puckers knowing what might be ahead for a nation and a world that tries to reboot something complex with complicated networks and systems. This is a very dangerous time anyone discounting that has not done the math and science. Personally, I see martial law ahead mainly because too many people will burn through food and medicine quickly and be desperate. Shut downs do things like this. China and Italy had a global world still functioning. Now Europe and Asia are shut down from normal and the US is going into a shut down. Never has a global world had this happen. I think we are floating around now in the unknown. The revised plan should be keep the health care system from being overwhelmed but lets not forget food chains and supplies of all sorts either. Where is the plan for that? It is too early for this yet because shelves are going bare but no widespread hunger…yet. Remember Food has a 3 day rule for human behavior, the 4th day is ugly. People have a constitutional right to go out and about as they desire. They are mainly being helpful and voluntarily complying. Judge Andrew Napolitano today spoke on Fox to this issue. I applaud your prepping. I think we all should be preppers and educated in basic medical care. A family can do that themselves. We should all store food and water. We should all have guns and ammo in case of societal breakdown or statist oversteps. Even Virginia is threatening to disarm its citizens. The vast bulk of the state is against this but because of D.C. being a neighbor, statists have taken over power. That may have to be dealt with. The government will have too work hard in inadequately insured areas to get people medical help. There are still huge risks in the US partially caused by Trump's attempt to monetise the crisis and partly because we still don't have a coherent policy to stem the pandemic. Telling people to stay home is one thing, but things like Will to Work may make it impossible for some to quarantine. Laws like that should be suspended for the duration. How do you figure that we had three more weeks to prepare than Europe? We all use the same calendar.

So, my apologies to Zhong for flying off the handle, but I do still stand by what I said for all the others that are nothing more than sock puppets for the communists. And speaking of which, where is remake it during all this anyway. What is really sad is that both the Democratic candidates have been in office for 30+ years, and any idiot dumb enough to vote for one of them actually believes that these morons have any answers for the problems this country faces right now. 30+ years and all of a sudden they have the answers, hmmmm. DON'T BELIEVE IT, not even a little bit. Bernie's answer is definitely a no go, those of us that can think already know where full blown socialism takes any country, and Biden's answers only have to do with fattening his and his family's pockets and bank with ill gotten gains from "aid money" to foreign countries. Neither one seems like a viable answer to any of the problems facing the nation right now. I would love nothing more than for Trump to get re-elected, and then an indictment come down the pike for Biden and his family. Justice would be served then, at least in that instance. Please give examples better systems? If so in what way? more efficient? If so again explain how better hospital administration and practices? Again please explain more testing? At present this isn’t so if we in Europe aren’t up to speed with the US then it’s something to raise at a political level. i actually doubt there is much if any difference, maybe some countries may be more proficient in some areas but I doubt in all. would be genuinely interested to know, can you give examples rather than just opinion though. cheers

If you work on 0.5% death rate as per S.Korea which is one of the most technically advanced nations in the world then the US should expect a death toll of approximately 1.5 million if everyone contracts the virus and it remains as virulent and strong. everyone won’t get this and it will probably be around the 1 million mark, however a large percentage will die of it without it being attributed to Covid-19 due to lack of testing. if you are elderly or have elderly members of your family then you need to keep them safe Edited March 18, 2020 by Rob Plant

(PS: I am presently in lockdown in KL, will be interesting to see if it makes one iota of difference in 2 weeks other than driving the economy into recession in a country heavily dependent on oil revenues while the price of oil is headed into the cellar. The Malaysian government depends on dividends from Petronas to fund 25% of its budget. That's going to be a big hole in government revenue. However, there is no way for the government to avoid the lockdown. Recently, a lot of Muslims have been infected from religious gatherings where they shared meals and thousands lodged together in the mosques. To do nothing will be political and reputational suicide. Plagiarized from OSTB, below: Here is a short video which shows people eating food in groups from a common talam or tray. You can see that they eat with their fingers. One guy moves from one tray or talam to another talam. He uses his "eating hand" to dish out food into the trays. This is a 100% certain method of spreading his saliva all over the food. To be shared by everyone else eating from that tray. There are other reasons for the rapid spread of the virus among the tablig. The mosque is not a hotel. Yet 16,000 people stayed there and slept there for three nights. They had no choice but to sleep on the floor, close up against each other. Such close proximity would have certainly spread the virus as well. This picture below gives an idea of what it looks like when hundreds or thousands of people end up sleeping on the floor next to each other.
