Yes, interesting.  Good thing you posted the archived version, because the original Medium post was taken down immediately.  I snagged an incomplete JPG version of the article, which is now gone.  You have the full article.

Worth reading, in my opinion.

I am personally of the belief that placing the person infected with Covid-19 into a Barimetric chamber and then flooding it with a pure-oxygen  artificial atmosphere is the way to go.  The people torecruit to run these are those deep-sea divers that use these machines in the event they need a longer decompression time.  If a diver gets the "bends," which is nitrogen gas bubbles in the bloodstream, then the drill is to take that diver down to a pressure depth of 165 feet, and release the N2 by slowly decompressing.

Now if you use a heli-ox mixture, helium gas and oxygen gas, which is what divers use in place of nitrogen, you can take the ill person down to depth and force oxygen into the blood and the tissues.  A big chamber will have room for 7 to 11 people plus an attendant, either a nurse or doctor, and down you go.  Does the pressurizsed oxygen atmosphere burn out the virus?  If so, then you can marshal people through that chamber say every six hours and they come out with no viral load.  In any event you get around the problem of the ill person's internal organs dying off from lack of oxygen.

There are these individual rubber bags, designed to run at a slight overpressure of 7 psi, or the equivalent of taking aperson down to 15 feet of water, which you can run on pure oxygen.  These are made in, you guessed it, China, and are used by various spas for "beauty treatments."  There are thousands of these bages in China, but no way to get them over here.  Presumably the ones with the Spa people here could be requisitioned for the duration, and that might well help.  Big advantage: you don't need a Ventilator.

That the owner of Medium is a well known asshat liberal whose idea of free speech consists of deleting comments from the right is a sad state of affairs. You Tom should invite that author to come here and play. Hopefully the owners of this site won't go down Medium's primrose path.

The owners of this site / forum have never once advised me that I cannot comment on anything.  And I have seen no evidence of censorship, except in cases of moderators deleting / hiding totally inappropriate comments by a person or two being complete jackholes.

Moderators deleting comments on this forum is pretty rare, and is basically only for totally uncalled for crap like threats of violence and actual death threats and other such idiocy.  That stuff has no place here.

In the rare cases when a comment is deleted by moderators, what usually happens is the comment gets hidden from view for non-moderators.  Moderators can still see the comment, so we know to keep an eye on that specific person's comments for a while.

Malaria is caused by a Paricite that eats hemoglobin not a bacteria. Just saying that is an inaccurate statement.

Otherwise as much as I find the Toxic Orange Stain to be our very own Biohazard in Chief ☣️ people have died from taking the wrong kind of Cloroquine in too high a dose in Arizona where a husband died & wife survived. Plus I read of deaths from taking Medical advice from a career criminal conman playing President* on TV in other countries. I hope a treatment is found that works.

Don’t take Medical advice from a fraud who stole from his charity ran a phony university and is clearly not to be trusted in his statements.

President* Biohazard ☣️ is a threat to Public Health his incompetent response has cost lives. He was too busy jacking off his Putter while the virus 🦠 was spreading. Furthermore, his late ban on arrivals from China was after 44 other countries had acted. This guy is a “Fucking Moron” Rex Tillerson was right. This epic failure will go down in history as a failure of leadership at the highest level regardless of how much this pathetic whinny little bitch tries to blame anyone but himself. Only a child refuses to take responsibility for his mistakes.

I sincerely hope a drug cocktail is found to be effective and very soon.

Interestingly I forwarded that article to my two best physician friends. One is an ER doctor the other a cardiologist. The ER doc was furious at the tone and tenor of the article and said, "We've known all this for 30 years". He also said the guy was too cowardly to put his real name down.

My cardiologist friend said, "Thanks, very interesting".

Amusing what a difference perspective makes.

About the founder of Medium, Evan Williams

It's a point of deep shame and sorrow to him that Trump uses twitter so effectively, and even bigger shame and sorrow that thanks to Trump, he's now a multi billionaire. His cognitive dissonance must be epic to observe. He runs Medium as a vanity, much like Bezos runs the Washington Post.

Chelation and dialysis might work if the damage is mostly from iron oxidative stress.

Would be interesting to hear what a hemochromatosis specialist or nephrologist would have to say

Not too different from just nasal oxygen.

If the mechanism of damage is oxidative stress high pressure oxygen might actually make things worse.

It's not.

The damage is from ventilators forcing gases into the lungs.

Good thought. Probably no time for that--it takes forever.

Very interesting that we're hearing so little about this iron ion release phenomenon.

Seems like we've gone back to the future on this one.

True. Alternatively - high volume IV, chelation agent, diuretics, Foley cath.

Just throwing out ideas, not supporting anything

Mechanical ventilation is never good for you.

I would wager you could take a bunch of healthy people and hospital based sedation and ventilation would hurt many of them.

"Control groups"

Hospital acquired infections are the worst.  I went through my mad-scientist storage and I have all the ingredients I need to make myself my own oxygen generator (Platinum electrodes, adjustable voltage DC power supply, various resistors....)

You need about 1.48V, a but less if you warm the system

237.18KJ/mol O2

Need to make 1-3 L/min.  1L/min is worth about +3.5% blood oxygen saturation

PV=nRT

You guys have free time to do the trivial rest. :)

Smoking near pure oxygen is a bad idea.

Edibles still get you high without the lung damage! Haha. Never been into tobacco
